The common pitfalls
Most sites have inherent flexibility across HVAC, refrigeration, processes and batteries that is never monetised. Participation in demand response or VPPs is often blocked by measurement baselines that exclude variable loads, high transaction costs for smaller sites, lack of automation, and uncertainty about revenue certainty. Many organisations also underestimate the operational impact or overestimate the disruption. As a result, valuable capacity remains locked and the commercial opportunity is missed.
